Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s first royal tour with baby Archie is almost over and it’s been just over a week of lovely photo opportunities and lots of important work.
Baby’s first tour
It’s tricky travelling with littlies at the best of times, but when you have to look picture perfect AND chat to important dignitaries and community members, there’s a whole other degree of difficulty.
The royal parents have managed this in the only way they could. They’ve put their baby first, making sure his happiness – and full tummy – is a priority.
TODAY reports that Meghan told media that this ‘Archie first’ approach has worked beautifully.
“Oh my goodness, well we’re doing well,” the Duchess said.
“They’ve been very kind to me because everything is based around Archie’s feed times.”
“It’s a full plate, but we’re making it work. It’s worth it,” Meghan said.
“Not grouchy”
Archie was nowhere to be seen on the tour’s first day, with his dad revealing he was exhausted by the long flight from London to Cape Town.
As he spent time chatting to locals who asked where Archie was, Harry explained his baby was sleeping off the flight.
“Harry then told another person in the crowds that the flight had exhausted their son. ‘He’s not grouchy, just exhausted,’” Hello! reported.
That’s not to say the four-month-old didn’t enjoy the trip.
“He was staring out the window as we flew in … looking at Table Mountain,” Harry said.
