If you’ve got a little bespectacled human in your family – or you wear glasses yourself – you’ll already know how important it is to select a frame that fits well, looks good and is going to be robust enough to survive the usual daily wear and tear that comes with kids.
Choosing new frames for your child is a big deal because they are going to be sitting on their nose every day for the foreseeable future. So you want to get it right.
A fresh approach to children’s eyewear
augie is a new Australian company that is all about simplifying the process of purchasing optical frames for kids. In fact, you can do everything you need to do online, saving yourself the effort of managing an impatient child in a shop trying on frame after frame after frame … seriously, choosing frames and organising prescription lenses has never been easier!
Created by parents who know first-hand the difficulty and frustration when it comes to purchasing frames for kids, Scott and Lana Arnold designed and navigated a simple approach to kids’ optical frames.
By using Augmented Reality, augie makes selecting your frames easy – you just use a filter which can be accessed on the augie website or your Instagram account; kids can ‘try on’ the augie frames and make colour and style choices right there and then. So simple, right?
Frames for everyone
The unisex range of frames comes in two sizes – small (4-7 years) and large (8-13 years) – with stylish designs that you usually only see in an adults’ range. augie has adapted these classic shapes in a fun colour palette that kids adore.
So it’s as simple as selecting your size and frame style and augie will deliver these directly to you.
If you require a prescription and/or blue light blocking lenses (great if your kids are spending a lot of time on screens), you can simply upload the prescription with your order and these will be delivered with the frames directly to you.
Did we mention they’re strong too?
And because we know how rough kids can be with their stuff, augie has created frames with kid-friendly features including silicone tips for easy adjustments at home by a parent, and flexi-spring hinges that give them flexibility.
On top of all that, all augie frames are made using cellulose acetate which is great for sensitive skin, and every pair is hand-polished.
